Active Covid cases in Snowy Valleys up to 121

There are 121 active cases of Covid 19 in the Snowy Valleys Local Government Area, with 137 total cases recorded in the past month.

The Tumut region has 65 active cases, the Adelong region 13, the Batlow region 8, the Gundagai region, including Brungle, has 32 and Wagga has 857 total cases.

NSW Health defines an active case as someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, is in isolation and is being clinically monitored by NSW Health. Cases are considered active for 14 days after their symptom onset date. Cases who have been hospitalised are considered active until they are discharged.

Across the state, 18 people died in the 24 hours to 8pm Sunday night, including a Riverina man.

Of the six women and 11 men, one was aged in their 30s, three were aged in their 60s, four were aged in their 70s, seven were aged in their 80s and two were aged in their 90s.

Four people were from south western Sydney, three people were from western Sydney, two people were from the Hunter region, two people were from southern Sydney, two people were from Sydney’s inner west, one person was from northern Sydney, one person was from Sydney’s inner city, one person was from eastern Sydney and and one person was from Penrith.

There are currently 2,030 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, with 159 people in intensive care, 47 of whom require ventilation.

NSW recorded 20,293 new cases of COVID-19 detected by PCR testing in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
