All Together Adelong will be a great way for people to find out who does what in Adelong when it is held in Memorial Park on Sunday, February 24.
The day, an Adelong Bendigo Bank initiative, will feature information
stalls, music, games and other fun activities, food, drink and music.
“A lot of people live in Adelong but work elsewhere, or their children go to school elsewhere, and they don’t know a lot of what happens in the town,” Bendigo Bank’s Lynette Nilon said.
“We thought we would have a day when Adelong businesses, volunteer organisations, and sports and community groups get together and showcase what they all do. For instance, the Adelong Alive Museum will have a stall, Adelong RFS will put on a display, and skate expert Levi Knight will put on a skateboard show.
Rory Phillips, Millie and Harry, Evan Saunders and Tumut High School students will provide musical entertainment, as well as Trevor and Bill from Gundagai will be busking.
There will also be lots of different food drink options.
“There will be cricket and football skill drills and many other different activities for all ages. The Bowling Club will have barefoot bowls and the swimming pool and tennis courts will be open to use.
There will be also yoga classes and Tumut Art Society will be running a workshop (to be announced).
There will be representatives from all sports so for parents who are considering a sporting option for their child this is a great opportunity to talk to the experts.
Many other organisations are looking for volunteers and this is a great chance to get involved in a community organisation.
Lynette said it would be an opportunity for Bendigo bank to showcase its contribution to the community.
“Bendigo Bank has put $700,000 back into Adelong, Tumut, Talbingo
and Gundagai,” she said.
She said the day would be a great opportunity for Adelong residents to find out what they have in this great little town.
“It’s going to be a great chance for everyone to show everyone else what they are doing.”
