On Saturday night this week Batlow was the place to be, with the Apple Blossom Ball taking place at the RSL Club, and the Apple Blossom Gala Dinner taking place at the newly refurbished Batlow Bowling Club.
Apple Blossom Festival Coordinator Col Agate said that, with its new roof and an overall facelift, the Batlow Bowling Club was looking fantastic – helped out on Saturday with hard working volunteers putting hours into decorating for the dinner, of course.
“[The club] is just beautiful, they’ve done well,” he said.
“It’s nice, freshly painted and the way the tables were decorated, it just made the evening.
“We’re very grateful to the Bowling Club – it’s part of the RSL, and we’re very grateful to Kylie Boxall for allowing us to use the venue. The RSL club is so generous to this community, there’s so many groups who use that venue.”
The Apple Blossom Committee held their final meeting on Sunday before the big day on Saturday.
The festivities will run during the day from 10am until 4pm, with bubble soccer, trick motorbike demonstrations, stalls, an exhibition, and live entertainment.
There will then be a break until the fireworks kick off at 9pm.
