THE Tumut and District Historical Society is calling on locals to help celebrate its Bicentenary by placing a little piece of history in a time capsule which will be buried for 50 years.
The Society is asking residents to use a standard envelope and suggests placing a photo of family and friends, a letter to your future self or future grandchildren, family tree and history of living in the area, family business history, or a photograph of your family pictured in front of your house.
Take your envelope to Tumut Museum, which is opened between 1pm and 3pm every Saturday and Sunday, by October 26.
The official launch will take place at the Society’s open day on November 9.
