Nearly $10,000 was raised at the Charity Golf Day organised by Tumut Building Supplies on Friday: $2,400 for Can Assist, and approximately $7,000 for the McGrath Foundation.

Tumut Building Supplies are part of the independent buying group HBT, which sponsors a nurse with the McGrath Foundation. Each of their members puts on fundraising events, with the idea of a golf day in Tumut proving popular with suppliers.

“A lot of our reps love Tumut and come to Tumut to play Golf, and they’ve been on us to have a golf day so they could come and play,” said Tumut Building Supplies’ Julie Kell.

“It was great, it was really successful. We had 98 golfers, which is good for a Friday, lots of people work and can’t get it off. We had a few volunteers helping out with the barbecues, and we had quite a few reps, which are our suppliers, who travelled from Sydney or Canberra for the day.”
