Eagles face off against Coota

THE Tumut Eagles will be hoping to put the disappointment of last Saturday’s loss to the South Wagga Warriors behind them when they take on Cootamundra at Cootamundra tomorrow.

It’s always a big match for both teams, and the Eagles are thinking tomorrow’s edition won’t be any different.

“Coota is our biggest match of the season,” Eagles coach Lachlan Anderson said.

“No matter where either of us are on the table, it’s my favourite game all year.”

Both sides are expected to be well and truly up for it, and Anderson is expecting challenging opposition.

“They (Cootamundra) look really strong early on so there shouldn’t be any more motivation needed,” he said.

The Eagles are determined to avoid a repetition of the effort that saw them lose 4-1 to South Wagga last Saturday.

“I’m hoping training this week and my presence at the game will kick everyone back into gear because we can’t afford to show what we displayed against South Wagga,” Anderson said.

“We will have a strong squad this weekend, so there’s no excuses.”
