Emergency services are on the scene of a helicopter crash at Lobs Hole, near Talbingo.
About 2.30pm a helicopter with a single pilot on board crashed in remote bushland.
It is understood the helicopter caught fire after the crash, which has been extinguished.
The pilot and only occupant, a 45-year-old man, escaped with head lacerations.
He is currently with a paramedic and it is expected he will be winched out of the site and taken to Canberra Hospital for treatment.
A Snowy Hydro Emergency Response Team has been deployed to the site. Tumut paramedics were among those to respond to the incident.
It’s understood the helicopter was at the site as part of Snowy Hydro’s 2.0 drilling program.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) have been notified about the crash, and will deploy an investigation team to the site.
