
ELM Cottages, situated on the edge of Tumut and which lie in the heart of the Goobarraganbra Valley has taken out further international awards for its outstanding tourism accommodation.
The business, created by David and Deborah Sheldon in 2003, was recently awarded a 26th international award, voted on by the visitors and peers to the industry for the venue.
The latest is the Prestige Awards Rural Retreat for the Year 2025, following on from the same award received in 2024.
Coupled with this they recently received Booking.com travel review awards 2025 gaining 9.7 out of 10 score and Glen Fogel, CEO of Booking.com said “We are so grateful for the efforts you put into making every stay special for your guests, and we are honoured to be your partner. Thanking you once again from all of us at Booking.com”, Mr Fogel said.
On top of this Elm Cottages were awarded a further distinction through Global 100 for Rural Retreat in the year 2025, in the M&A Global Awards.
“We don’t go out of our way to apply for these awards, we are humbled to receive them as they are just given to us by our peers and visitors,” Mr Sheldon said.
Some comments from visitors when posting reviews say that the venue ‘…lovely well-equipped cottage with views from every angle – felt as if we were the only one there even though there are other cottages nearby; full kitchen which meant we were still able to have a Christmas lunch on the beautiful patio watching the cows wander by. River was simply stunning, pet friendly which meant we got to take the fur babies with us – thank you for a much need respite – we will be back – gained a 5:5 – Karen Andrews.
