THE Visy Pulp and Paper Tumut mill is fully operational again after its annual major shut down (MSD) held across October 14 to 25.
The MSD brought technical specialists from across the world to Tumut, with the number of workers onsite peaking at 1348 over a 24-hour period on October 16.
“The number of complex jobs that need to be done in such a short period always makes the annual shut down a challenge, but our dedicated team planned well to keep everyone safe and complete the job on time” said Johan Stoltz, general manager, Visy Tumut Mill.
“Thank you to the Visy team for all their hard work, and the community – especially our accommodation and restaurant workers – for all your understanding and support,”
