Overseas traveller adds to Covid cases

A Snowy Valleys resident who has returned from overseas travel, and is currently quarantining in a Sydney hotel, is among the five new cases of Covid-19 announced in NSW today.

As the person’s residential address is within the Snowy Valleys Council’s LGA, the case is reported in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District’s statistics.

The total number of cases of COVID-19 for Murrumbidgee Local Health District is now 49. 

Anyone with even the mildest symptoms such as sore throat, cough, fever, shortness of breath should be tested.  Call the Murrumbidgee COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 831 099.

Of the five NSW cases announced, two are returned travellers in hotel quarantine and three, outlined yesterday, are close contacts of a man from the Blue Mountains who visited Crossroads Hotel in Casula on the evening of Friday, July 3. They are isolating.

More than 400 people were tested for COVID-19 at the Crossroads Hotel pop-up testing clinic yesterday in south-west Sydney.
