River expected to flood this afternoon

Authorities now expect the Tumut River to reach the minor flood level of 2m at Tumut at about 2pm this afternoon, possibly rising to 2.2m by about 5pm.

The SES is advising all campers to move away from the river from all the camping areas 

Those staying at the Riverglade Caravan Park should watch the river conditions and act accordingly. 

Residents around Dowells Lane, Bombowlee Lacmalac/Goobragandra Road and Adelong Falls area should prepare their properties for possible flooding.

Morotorists are advised to show caution driving around Gilmore Flats and Adelong Falls areas. 

Be aware that all low-lying areas near watercourses are likely to flood. 

Be aware near the lower parts of Elm Drive and River Street.

Further river rises could see the area surrounding the racecourse becoming inundated.

Residents in the Goobragandra and Brindabella Valleys need to be vigilant to flood impacts and farmers should move livestock and equipment off low lying fields adjacent to all rivers.
