Searching for new waters

Kaiden and Cody with a great Murray Cod from a low land stream.

For all the world class fisheries that surround us here in the Tumut area and surrounds were also lucky to have a plethora of great little haunts.

By just picking a track or tracing google maps you can find a secluded piece of water.

Over the last week I’ve stumbled across a few and was even lucky enough to be taken to a secret spot by a couple of local young gun anglers from Adelong. We took the raft and managed a nice Murray cod quite easily and in the middle of the day! Some great angling and a really cool little spot.

Just a quick note to say thanks to the local acclimatisation society for their tireless work and passion for the local fisheries.

If you feel like helping out with fisheries initiatives in the area, get in touch at [email protected], it’s a lot of fun and there’s all sorts of degrees of involvement that make a big difference.
