Racing NSW stewards will inspect the Tumut Turf Club racetrack today and tomorrow before the club hosts their five-race Christmas Party meeting on Saturday.
The track was a heavy 10 on Sunday after receiving 26mm of rain, but a drier than expected week has given the club and stewards hope that Saturday’s meeting will proceed.
Some rain is forecast Friday night and Saturday, and Racing NSW steward Liam Martin explained that he would visit the course on Friday and early Saturday morning.
“I will probably go out their mid-way Friday and I know that there is rain coming Friday night and I will do a further assessment on Saturday morning at about 6am,” Mr Martin said.
The Racing NSW steward was remaining hopeful that the meeting would proceed.
“I’ve watched the weather, I know they got a fair bit of rain, but today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday) are meant to be good days,” Mr Martin said.
“We will give them every opportunity and hopefully they race.”
