Super 16s cook Kookaburras

The Tumut-Gundagai under 16s.

THE Tumut-Gundagai under 16s scored a terrific 113-run win over the Cootamundra Kookaburras in the South West Slopes Cricket League under 16s clash at the Bull Paddock on Saturday.

Other than a match which was forfeited, Tumut-Gundagai are unbeaten in this competition, but sit just behind Temora in second place on the ladder.

The Kookaburras won the toss and put Tumut-Gundagai into bat, and bat they did- superbly, hitting 6/204 from the 30 overs.

Aiden Turnbull scored a half century from 43 balls, including six fours. He was supported by Cooper Smith (45 including four fours and a six), Ryley Bartlett (37 including three fours) and Gilbert Crane (30 including three fours).

Roy Dunk was very good with the ball for Cootamundra, taking 2/5 from three overs.

However, Tumut-Gundagai were just as devastating with the ball as with the bat, and Cootamundra finished their innings on 7/91.

All the Tumut-Gundagai bowlers bowled superbly, especially Ryley Bartlett, who took 3/6 off three overs, including a maiden. Aiden Turnbull backed up his great form with ball with figures of 2/11 from three overs, also including a maiden.

This Saturday the Tumut-Gundagai boys head to Cranfield Oval in Young to face the Amber-Blythe Breakers.
