It’s a boot camp for physical, mental and social fitness, and it’s free for March.
Zac Masters and Brodie Palmer are again running ‘Active Farmers’ fitness classes at the Adelong Showgrounds every Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-6:30pm.
Mr Masters said that although the organisation is titled ‘Active Farmers,’ and it’s based in Adelong, the classes are for everyone across the Snowy Valleys LGA.
“We’ve had everyone from 60- or 70-year-old women down to 10-year-old kids there,” said Mr Masters, “Because it’s all bodyweight, it’s really easy to adjust it to whoever’s there.”
The program is backed by Bayer, in partnership with the Active Farmers Ride for Resilience and the Toy Memorial Trust (NSW Riverine communities).
“It is hoped that free Active Farmers classes will be an opportunity for communities to come together in support of each other’s mental and physical health,” said Marliese Heffernan, the Acting CEO of Active Farmers.
“It’s all about mental health,” said Mr Masters, “It’s a good chance for everyone to catch up, get fit, get active, and look after themselves again.”
Classes are free for the month of March and will include a community barbecue at the end of the month. Additional information is available through the Active Farmers Adelong Facebook page.
