Tumut 9s call for more women

The Tumut 9s need more women to express their interest ahead of the 2025 Tumut Old Boys 9s competition.

With the 2025 Tumut Old Boys 9s competition set to kick off in February, the Tumut Rugby League Old Boys and Supporters Club are calling for new and returning players in the women’s competition.

The Tumut Old Boys 9s have confirmed women’s teams in Tumbarumba and Adelong but have yet to confirm teams in Tumut and Gundagai.

Ideally, the Old Boys want to see two teams up and running in Tumut to make it a minimum four-team competition, while a team from Gundagai is more than welcome to play.

With player numbers needing to be finalised by November, it’s imperative players express their interest sooner rather than later.

If players are interested in creating a team in Tumut, the Old Boys want to help them get it off the ground.

Or, if a player simply wants to play, the Old Boys can connect them with the right people.

In good news, the men’s teams appear to be sorted, with Tumbarumba, Batlow, and Adelong set to take on Tumut teams from the Woolpack, Club Tumut, and Star Hotel in a six-team competition.

The Star Hotel’s registration in the competition marks a highly anticipated return to the competition for the popular Red Men.
