Twenty year surprise for fire captain

Tumut Fire and Rescue Captain Mick Ivill is presented with his 20-year Good Conduct Clasp by Fire and Rescue Zone Commander Dean Campbell on Thursday.

TUMUT Fire and Rescue Captain Mick Ivill got a pleasant surprise at Thursday night’s drill in the form of a 20-year Good Conduct Clasp.

The Tumut 467 firefighters welcomed new Zone Commander Dean Campbell and Duty Commander Jason Murphy to their new roles, and Zone Commander Campbell present Ivill with his clashp.

It came as a complete surprise.

“Dean said while I’m here, I will present this clasp to Mick Ivill,” he said.

“I don’t pay much attention to these anniversaries to it was a nice surprise,” he said.

The clasp is for consistent diligence with crew and station safety.

Ivill has been with Fire and Rescue Tumut since 2004.
