Ulysses bikes shine bright in Tumut

IF you noticed an increase in smooth two-wheeled machines in Tumut on Saturday you weren’t seeing things, as the Tumut Branch of the Ulysses Motorcycle Club held it second-ever annual Show and Shine.

There were 35 exceptional machines at the Connection, and you didn’t have to be a motorcycle enthusiast to marvel at them.

“There were 35 bikes plus a few others that rode in to have a look around,” Ulysses Motorcycle Club Tumut branch secretary Julie O’Brien said.

“There was a regular flow of traffic the whole time, and it was bigger than last year.”

Some of the riders and bikes came from Sydney, Corowa, Wagga, Canberra and elsewhere as well as the Tumut region. There were Harleys, Hondas, BMWs, Triumphs, Royal Enfields, Yamahas and even a Can-Am that looked straight out of a Batman movie.

Funds were raised for the Tumut branch with a barbecue and lucky door prize, and some of this will go Tumut Neighbourhood Centre, a charity favoured by the Tumut branch of the Ulysses Club.

“They are a wonderful organisation that puts a lot into the community and we are happy to fundraise for them,” Julie said.

She added everyone had a wonderful time at the Show and Shine.

“We are already planning for next year,” she said.
