
DAVID Wilde has claimed his second consecutive Tumut Golf Club A. Murray and Sons Club Championship.
Wilde who won last year’s championship, held off a fast-finishing Robert Crawford in securing the win by one stroke with a 72 hole score of 297.
Robert Crawford finished runner up with 298 whilst Steven Kell finished third with 301 and Byron Crawford who held a share of the lead with Wilde at the halfway mark of the tournament faded to finish in fourth.
The Graded results are as follows – A Grade- David Wilde 297, Robert Crawford 298, Steven Kell 301c/b, Byron Crawford 301.
The handicap winner was Steven Kell on countback from David Wilde after both recorded 289 nett.
In B Grade Bill Masters claimed the title by eight strokes with a 72 hole score of 359 from Louie Mulvihill who finished runner up with 367 and Archie Southwell third with 371.
Archie Southwell claimed the handicap win with 299 from Col Duncan runner up with 302.
The C. Grade title went to Mark Goode by seven strokes with 381.
Second place went to Peter Clear with 388, third place went to Jordan Neill with 393.
Mark Goode also took out the C Grade handicap prize with 289 from Neill Jordan who finished runner up with 297.

Saturday’s stroke competition had 53 golfers tee up and saw Greg Bye continue his good recent form in claiming the win with an excellent 65 nett from Scott Stevenson who also had a good day out with 66 nett.

Graeme Hartshorn survived a countback from Neill Jordan to win Sundays stroke competition after both recorded impressive rounds of 69 nett.

Ivy Crawford fired an excellent 45 points to take out Sundays Medley Stableford, competition from Daniel Vafiopulous 10 points further back with 35 points in second on countback.

Last Thursday’s nine hole chook run was contested as Stableford over the front nine.
Wayne Jones recorded an excellent three under par round in accumulating 21 points.
Jones scored birdies on holes 1,2 and 7 to go with his six pars.
Peter Halpin finished runner up with a solid 20 points followed by William Hughes 19, Graham Strack 19, Peter Wren 18, Shane Carroll 18, Mark Hughes 18, Robert Preston 17, Peter McCarthy 17, Stuart Tozer 16, Geoff Brain 16 and Steven Delaney 16c/b.
Nearest pin on hole nine went to John Barbour 474cm.
William Hughes took out last week’s Seniors event which was contested as Stableford over the back nine holes with 20 points from Barry Lang 19, Greg Kell 19, Steven Delaney 19, Warwick Butler 18, Peter Halpin 18, Ron Sutton 17, John Cruise 17, Peter Shanahan 16, Geoff Brain 16, Trevor Masters 16, Darryl Ryan 15, Louie Mulvihill 15 and Shane Carroll 15.
