Young Eagles earning their wings

Clyde Couzens leads the charge in the Eagles Under 8 Black match against Lake Albert on Saturday.

The U6 High Country Tumut Eagles Black had an exciting match against South Wagga over the weekend.

Hunter and Nate had an exceptional game, with exhilarating runs and big kicks towards the opponent’s goals. Ned and Henry utilised indispensable defensive tactics and Joshua’s speed was utilised up and down the field.

Billy and Dexton had a great game, working hard to get the ball down the field. Good work all under 6s. It may be their first year playing soccer, however they are quickly learning to fly! Go Eagles!

UNDER 9S

The DME Tumut Eagles U9 boys had a great game on the weekend playing against the Wagga United Crows.

The team is starting to work together and understand passing is key to a good game. Jack McLean, Lachlan Fayle, Leroy Pearce, Darcy Paul and Ethen McGuffie all played very well at the other team’s goals making some excellent passes and plays.

Nathan Poll, Ned Henshaw, Oliver Wilde, Cain Whiting and Chad O’Donovan all played a very good defensive game doing everything they could to break up the Crows momentum and get the ball back for the Eagles and then work their way back up the field together. All the boys always give 100 per cent and should be proud of their effort.

UNDER 10S

South Wagga travelled to Tumut for the game with the Goodes Tumut Eagles U10s. It was a tough game with a lot of lessons learnt by the U10s.

Harrison Murray made some great runs down the left wing and scored. Lucas Grayland’s determination shone through and was unlucky not to score. Hutchence Searl was strong in defence and Jaxon Wells had a great second half as Goal Keeper.

The players are starting to put together what they are learning in training and are making some great team decisions. The team should be congratulated on their great sportsmanship.

UNDER 10/11S GIRLS

Tolland arrived for the 1.15pm game against the Goodes Tumut Eagles U10/11s girls. They were a player short and Elaina Poll graciously played for Tolland. Elaina scored two goals against her team-mates. It shows great sportsmanship to volunteer to play for the opposing side.

Sienna Pannell was unlucky not to find the back of the net this week and sustained an ankle injury and played the second half as keeper, pulling off a gruelling 1-on-1 save. Lauryn Heard was strong in attack and defence and Aylah Govener had a change of position this week and played striker.
