An elderly couple had to be cut from the wreckage of their car and taken to hospital after rolling their car down an embankment at Lacmalac on Friday.

Shortly after midday, emergency services were called to the scene at Lacmalac Road where the Hyundai hatchback had left the road on a right hand bend, smashing through a guard rail and rolling down an embankment, knocking over small trees, and ended up in a driveway at the front gate of a home shortly after midday on Friday.

Fire and Rescue, SES, RFS, police and ambulance crews arrived on the scene and SES crewmembers and firefighters cut open the car and got the man and woman out. They were taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital by road ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
