This exciting event is supported by Eastern Riverina Arts and sponsored by the Adelong Alive Museum which, like the glorious Adelonia, has recently been renovated and refurbished.
The Museum is now opening on Saturday at 10.30am and Sunday at 11.30am and in addition to the permanent exhibits on Adelong’s social life and the Goldfields, there is a charming exhibition celebrating Childhood Pastimes.
The Affinity Quartet has earned acclaim as the first Australian string quartet to win major prizes in four international string quartet competitions.
The quartet is coming to Adelong after five months, studying and performing in Europe this year.
For part of each year on a recurring invitation the Quartet is based in Madrid under the guidance of Gunter Pichler, founder of the Alban Berg Quartet (1970-2008) and there, in January they performed at the International Institute of Chamber Music.
The group arrives home next week on May 15 to prepare for their Australian audiences including at The Adelonia Threatre.
Bookings are through HUMANTIX and also available at the Museum.
