Group placing for locally-owned Pindaric

The locally owned Pindaric finished a gallant second the Group 3 Spring Stakes at Morphettville back on August 13 for trainer Michael Hickmott and jockey Jess Eaton.

After beginning quickly from gate 12, the six-year-old sat three-wide in the early stages.

Turning for home, Pindaric eye-balled race leader Outlaws Revenge, and looked to be leading momentarily at the 300m mark, but the fast-finishing Calypso Reign ($13) for trainer David Jolly and jockey Kayla Crowther proved too strong, winning by 2.1 lengths, while Pindaric ($7.50) finished second and Pimm’s Party ($14) finished third.
